Asus has officially unveiled the compact flagship Asus Zenfone 9 with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, 120Hz screen and 50MP camera.
The Asus Zenfone 9 features a 5.9-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1100 nits of peak brightness, HDR10+ support, 112% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a 12MP front camera cutout.
With Apple ditching the 5.4-inch “mini” smartphones in favor of the 6.7-inch “Max” in this one, Asus’ newest flagship is the most compact flagship of 2022.
There are three cameras on the back: a 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX766 sensor, 6-axis hybrid Gimbal and EIS stabilization, and a 12MP ultra-wide angle with a Sony IMX363 sensor with a 113-degree field of view. By the way, the ultra-wide also acts as a macro camera.
The smartphone is equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 128/256 GB UFS 3.1 standard drive.
Other features of the device include a 3.5mm headphone jack, a fingerprint scanner on the side, stereo speakers, IP68 water and dust resistance, and a 4300 mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.
Prices for the basic configuration of Asus Zenfone 9 with 8/128 GB of memory will be 799 euros. The timing of the start of sales is still unknown.
