Snap is now launching the first AR game in Snapchat. The game is called Ghost Phone and it’s about solving the mystery of what happened to the previous owner of a smartphone. In the game, you use the camera to find ghosts in AR that appear in your surroundings. You must then carry out different types of activities to find and capture the ghosts.

The game can be accessed from this link if you have Snapchat installed or by searching for Ghost Phone in the lenses in the app.

Snapchat comes to the web

But only for Snapchat Plus subscribers at first

Snapchat is now rolling out features like sending snaps, chats and video calls for devices other than smartphones with a brand new web app. This is the first time the service has been made available on devices other than smartphones. Initially, the web app will be available exclusively to Snapchat Plus subscribers, and it’s the first major feature for subscribers the company is showing since it released the plan in June. Subscribers in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand will get access to Snapchat for Web first. Snapchat for Web will only be compatible with Google Chrome and not Apple’s Safari.

Snap releases the Pixy flying camera

Or drones as the rest of us say

Snap, the company behind the Snapchat platform, is now releasing its “flying camera” Pixy. When we see the product, of course we think it’s a drone, but Snap doesn’t want us to see the product as such. Instead, they want us to see it as a flying camera, so what’s the difference? Unclear, but there’s no doubt that flying camera is a bit more abstract. The drone The flying camera is at least small enough that you can keep it in your pocket and control it on your own, without the hassle of getting it up in the air. It flies a few meters above you and takes pictures and videos, then lands in the palm of your hand after the flight. All the content it records is downloaded to your Snapchat memories. It doesn’t seem like the user controls the camera directly from the mobile, instead Pixy has a bunch of different flight patterns to choose from. The videos can then be edited with various AR effects in the Snapchat app. Pixy is only available while stocks last in the US and France. The price is 230 dollars. In the video below, The Verge takes a look at Pixy.
