Fire crews were struggling to contain multiple blazes burning in eastern Germany on Thursday, with the biggest source of concern the tense situation at a mountainous area on the German-Czech border, where flames erupted at the weekend and continue to spread. The region is called Saxon Switzerland on the German side and Bohemian Switzerland on the Czech side.
