Not so far from his role as Rocky, Stallone returns to play the big tough guys with a big heart in a heroic film signed Amazon.
From the height of his 76 years, Sylvester Stallone dons a superhero costume for Amazon Prime Video in a movie called Samaritan (The Samaritan in French). Headlining the new platform exclusive, the actor embodies a retired superhero trying to hide his superhuman identity as best he can.
Accustomed to cleaning the streets of crime as a vigilante, the old man now takes care of clearing the streets of garbage and waste of all kinds as a garbage collector. Amazon has just uploaded the first trailer for this future film, and the result looks rather convincing.
A simple but effective scenario
Far from reinventing the genre, Samaritan offers a classic scenario but carried by the talent and expertise of Sylvester Stallone in terms of action film. All the charm of the film seems to reside in the character of the tortured hero with a heart of gold and her relationship with a young boy who discovers her identity. Indeed, while the former super does everything to hide his powers, he deviates from his only rule when he sees a poor young man being beaten by comrades from his neighborhood. Little Sam Cleary is then convinced of it: old Mr. Smith is none other than The Samaritan. As the city falls into ruin at the hands of crime, the boy will do everything to get the former superhero back in service.
Without getting too wet, the proposed recipe still seems tempting and the trailer reveals a Sylvester Stallone in top form to put on the tights of the Samaritan. This new movie is definitely a project to follow which is scheduled for release on the platform on August 26th. Will the hero be able to save Adriaaan…? How is this the bad movie?
