FBI declaredthat “more” people are using deepfakes when interviewing for jobs.

The agency did not provide specific numbers, but noted that the increase in deepfakes came after many companies introduced remote work.

Typically, people use a video with another person’s face or a voice that doesn’t belong to them. In the latter case, deepfakes are calculated due to the fact that the movements of the lips are not synchronized with the sound.

Sometimes attackers steal the data of potential candidates in order to impersonate another person during an interview.

Deepfakes are mostly common in IT companies when interviewing for a position that provides access to confidential data and financial bases. [Business Insider]
