Big anniversary update with FSR 2.0

Most relevant to Chernobylite players is the next major update for the title, rolling out to coincide with its first birthday. The most important innovation is probably the support for AMD’s upscaling technology FSR 2.0. In addition, the developers speak of a problem that occurs in the Pripyat Residential Area as part of the “Ghost of the Past” mission. This is said to have been eliminated with the big patch.

Technology:

  • Added AMD FSR 2.0 (please make sure you run the game in DX12 to use it!): “Quality”, “Balanced”, “Performance”, “Ultra Performance”
  • Improved overall stability – the number of crashes (especially in VR mode) should be less now.
  • Improved ray tracing effects in some areas.

Important bug fixes:

  • Fixed the issue that blocked progress in “Ghost of the Past in Pripyat Residential Area”. If you have a save file where the quest is already canceled – don’t worry, because going through the timeline is a solution for this case.
  • Fixed an issue where some items (and advanced slots) would disappear from inventory after exiting VR. Note: Loading a broken save from outside of VR will not restore the items, but loading the game inside of VR will have both items and slots restored.
  • The event where Semyon asks the player to dismantle the building was sometimes not performed even when three or more mines were set up. We have expanded the trigger range so that the problem no longer occurs.

Localization updates:

  • The “Select” and “Exit” text lines on the board with Tanya’s photos were always displayed in English, regardless of the current language setting – now all languages have their respective translations.
  • We have corrected spelling mistakes seen in some of the dialogs/menus. Most of these bugs were discovered by you and reported on the Steam forums, thanks for that!

Miscellaneous:

  • The amount of available ammo now always differs between VR and non-VR modes.
  • Sometimes the game would crash when Igor was killed by a Chernohost through certain events – this is fixed now.
  • We fixed some random crashes occurring when entering/exiting portals in VR mode.
