A new “Titan” graphics card with 800 watts …
Background: Ada Titan
Do you remember last week? Back then we thought it was hot. Compared to the rumour, which literally boiled up in week 30, it only seems like a mild summer night. According to the most well-informed (or imaginative) insiders, Nvidia is preparing a graphics card the likes of which the world has never seen before. An almost complete expansion of the “Ada” flagship with the designation AD102-450 was seen, which is to compete with 18,176 FP32-ALUs and 48 GiByte GDDR6X with a speed of 24 GT/s. Apart from the minimally exaggerated storage capacity, this is in line with expectations around the power factor 2 – the Ampere flagship offers 10,752 FP32 ALUs after all. However, said Ada graphics card is said to have a TGP of 800 watts – 350 watts or 78 percent more than the Geforce RTX 3090 Ti, which has rightly been criticized for its high power consumption. This is not only effective in view of global warming and exploding energy prices insane, the enormous waste heat also makes water cooling a basic requirement. Let’s assume it actually happens – you can read what the PCGH editors have to say about it bluntly in the picture gallery. And what do you think, dear readers? Discuss with us!
