Rockstar Games’ next action title “GTA 6” seems to have undergone some changes in development so far. The scale has been reduced significantly, according to a new report.

A few days ago, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier revealed some supposed details about the upcoming action blockbuster “Grand Theft Auto VI” (“GTA 6” for short), according to which players can expect an adventure that is very different from its predecessor .

Among other things, it was reported that Rockstar Games will use a female main character for the first time. Accordingly, the players should be able to race through the streets of Vice City with a Latina. There will also be a male counterpart at her side, who is supposed to complete a “Bonnie & Clyde” feeling. Now, however, another report is doing the rounds, according to which “GTA 6” should even come up with a huge scale.

Rockstar has shrunk the scale

Axios editor Stephen Totilo would like from its own source learned that Rockstar Games had previously planned with four protagonists who would wreak havoc in three different cities. However, the development studio decided against this enormous task in order to have a more manageable development cycle and to offer employees a healthier and more sustainable work environment.

In the past, Rockstar Games has come under massive criticism after reports of a crunch culture surfaced. Accordingly, the developers were extremely overworked, which not only led to displeasure within the company, but also put a heavy strain on the mental health of several employees. In addition, there was great pressure to perform and a lack of opportunities for advancement, after 100-hour weeks in the development of “Red Dead Redemption 2” were said to have been not uncommon.

Since then, Rockstar Games has been trying to improve working conditions, which is why flexible working hours were introduced to reduce overtime. In addition, the gender pay gap has been reduced and additional producers have been hired to better manage the workload.
