To mark the 50th anniversary of the Atari brand, Digital Eclipse announced the retro collection called Atari 50th: The Anniversary Celebration. More than 90 classics from various Atari systems are promised.








This year, the legendary Atari brand is celebrating its 50th birthday. As announced by Digital Eclipse, the studio will celebrate Atari’s anniversary with the retro collection called Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration.

As can be seen from the official announcement, “Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration” will offer you more than just selected classics that can be played on PC and current consoles. Instead, an interactive journey through Atari’s 50-year history is promised. Accordingly, interviews with the developers and designers of the time, documentaries on various consoles and games or high-resolution artwork are offered.



Atari Jaguar and Atari Lynx playable on modern platforms for the first time

At the heart of Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration will be the interactive timelines, which will combine historical trivia, digital artifacts, brand new video interviews and playable games into a unique experience, according to Digital Eclipse. More than 90 selected classics that have appeared for the Atari platforms over the past decades are promised. According to today’s announcement, Jaguar and Lynx games will also be playable on current systems for the first time.

While most of the classics are included in their original form, Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration also features the Reimagined series. Here we are dealing with technically revised versions of well-known Atari classics. The following six titles have been confirmed here so far.

  • Sword Quest: Air World
  • Haunted Houses
  • VCTR SCTR
  • Neo Breakout
  • square anchor
  • Yars’ Revenge Reimagined
