German carmaker Mercedes and labour unions reached an agreement on Wednesday that will ensure a trio of factories in Germany will remain at full productivity for the coming decades, said works advisory council official Ergun Lümali. “We managed to make a breakthrough,” he said. The deal foresees the factories in Bremen, Rastatt and Sindelfingen focusing on electric cars. The agreement notes that Rastatt will also continue to focus on compact vehicles.
