The company Backbone has a long history of making game controllers for game consoles and mobiles. Now Sony together with Backbone is launching an officially licensed iPhone controller called Backbone One – Playstation Edition, inspired by and with the same iconography as Sony’s Dualsense controllers for the Playstation 5. The idea is that the game controller will be used together with Sony’s PS Remote Play app for to play streaming Playstation games, but can also be used to play local games and with other streaming game services.
There is no built-in battery and the device takes its power from the mobile, but at the bottom of the game controller there is a through Lightning port to be able to charge the mobile while playing, as well as a 3.5 mm jack for headphones.
Backbone One – Playstation Edition is now released with a price tag of SEK 1,499. Backbone One is also available in a more traditional black version for iPhone and for Android, these also cost SEK 1,499.
