Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan says Sweden has vowed to expatriate 73 “terrorists” to Turkey as part of an agreement this week so Ankara would drop its opposition to Sweden and Finland’s NATO membership application. The NATO deal with the two Nordic countries is “a diplomatic victory” for Turkey, but Sweden and Finland must first live up to their promises, including the pledge to fight terrorism, Erdoğan told a press conference at the end of a NATO summit in Madrid. Details of the claimed repatriation was not immediately clear.
