At the end of 2020, the famous cel-shaded first-person shooter XIII made its big comeback on consoles and PC. Unfortunately, the reissue of the title did not prove to be convincing in any way. You can also find our test not really laudatory.

The redemption of XIII Remake

Microids had promised updates to correct the shooting, and it seems that the editor did not say a few words in the air! Indeed, we learn today that the title will not be satisfied with a simple artistic overhaul, but also with technical, sound and many other improvements! All of this work was done by Tower Five who are now in charge of XIII Remake.

All XIII Remake improvements

  • New artistic direction.
  • Improved artificial intelligence.
  • Reworked HUD.
  • Improved sound design.
  • Online multiplayer from 2 to 13 players.
  • Framerate at 30 FPS on Nintendo Switch.
  • Framerate at 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

To achieve the expected standards and an optimal gaming experience, Microids has decided to entrust the continuation of the development of the XIII Remake video game to the French studio Tower Five (Lornsword: Winter Chronicle). In charge of monitoring the game for more than a year, the studio is preparing significant improvements and corrections which will be made available to players on September 13, accompanied by the long-awaited online multiplayer mode (2 to 13 players).

In parallel with this new announcement, Microids takes the opportunity to confirm the arrival of a Nintendo Switch version on September 13 at the same time as the release of this update. In the meantime, the title is already available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC and on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility. You can already enjoy a gameplay video from Nintendo’s latest.
