Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 11T Pro and Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus in China in May this year.
The devices offer LCD panels with a high refresh rate of 144Hz and the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset at an affordable price, making them a great choice for mobile gamers on a budget. Now, Xiaomi has introduced one of these devices in the Indian market, but under a different marketing name – Redmi K50i.
The new Redmi K50i is a rebadged Redmi Note 11T Pro with the same hardware. It is indistinguishable from the Chinese model in almost every aspect, since Xiaomi has not made any changes to its design either. So, if you are already familiar with the Chinese Redmi Note 11T Pro, then you probably know what to expect from the new Redmi K50i. If not, here’s a brief overview.

Redmi K50i is a premium mid-range smartphone powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset. The SoC is paired with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB fast UFS 3.1 storage, 6.6″ FHD+ LCD panel with 144Hz refresh rate and 5080mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. This combination of features makes it a great choice for mobile gamers on a budget, but you should wait for our full review before taking the risk and ordering it for yourself.
In terms of cameras, the Redmi K50i features a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW1 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro camera on the back, and a 16MP selfie camera on the front. Other noteworthy features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, an infrared port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and IP53 certification for dust and water resistance.
As a device powered by MediaTek Dimensity, Redmi K50i also offers 5G capabilities with support for twelve 5G bands. In addition, it includes support for 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. However, unlike its Chinese counterpart, the device does not support NFC.
In terms of software, the Redmi K50i runs MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box. Xiaomi has promised to provide two years of Android updates and three years of security updates for the device. This means that Xiaomi will update the device to Android 13 sometime later this year or early next year and to Android 14 after Google releases it for its Pixel devices next year. The company will also release regular security updates for the device until 2025.
Unboxing: What’s inside the Redmi K50i (India) box?
The Redmi K50i has finally arrived in India and it is the first Redmi K-series phone from the brand in three years.
Redmi K50i box comes with the following content:
– Redmi K50i (in the color of your choice).
– 67W fast charger.
– USB-A to USB-C cable.
– SIM eject tool.
– Documentation for a specific region, including a quick guide.
– Basic silicone case (TPU/silicon case).
– Basic screen protector (pre-applied).
The Redmi K50i comes with just about everything you would expect from a smartphone in retail packaging. Unlike many other OEMs, Redmi includes a charger in the box along with its new Redmi K50i. You get a 67W charger which should charge the device fairly quickly. The device, as you can see, also comes with a transparent silicone case and a screen protector (pre-applied to the phone) for some basic protection out of the box. This ensures that you don’t have to spend extra money on a phone case or screen protector, at least not right away.
Redmi K50i is available in three colors – Quick Silver, Stealth Black and Phantom Blue. We have the Quick Silver variant of the phone and it looks very clean with just the camera island and the Redmi logo on the back. If the device looks familiar to you, it’s because the same phone is being sold as the Redmi Note 11T Pro in China and as the Poco X4 GT in global markets.

Redmi K50i will go on sale in India from July 23 at the following prices:
6GB + 128GB: Rs 25,999 (~$325)
