Fujitsu has launched the Lifebook WU-X/G2 laptop, which is named the lightest in the world. Indeed, with a screen diagonal of 13.3 inches, it weighs only 634 grams. For comparison, the weight of the Apple MacBook Air with the same screen is almost twice as heavy.
Fujitsu Lifebook WU-X/G2 has quite a decent filling: 12th generation Intel processor (Core i5-1235U or Core i7-1255U), up to 32 GB of RAM, storage from 256 GB to 2 TB, Wi-Fi 6 modules and Bluetooth 5.1, 11-hour battery life, fingerprint scanner and a wide range of ports (two USB 3.2 Type-C with Thunderbolt 4 support, one USB 3.2 Type-A, RJ45, HDMI, 3.5 mm audio output and slot for memory cards). Dimensions are 307 × 197 × 15.5 mm.
The manufacturer has achieved weight reduction through the use of carbon fiber in the body. This material is more expensive than plastic and metal, it is much lighter and more durable. In addition, the engineers “saved” a little on the battery – the Lifebook WU-X / G2 has a battery with a capacity of only 25 Wh, but it is enough for the laptop to work without being discharged for almost half a day.
Fujitsu Lifebook WU-X/G2 is only sold in Japan. The version with the Core i5-1235U costs $1,370 (a little over 83,000 rubles), and with the Core i7-1255U, it costs $1,675 (about 101,500 rubles).
